Vegetation

Point Pelee is a unique combination of marsh, beach, cedar, savannah, and forest. There are over 700 species of non-flowering and flowering plants. Some are rare and only found at Point Pelee. In the forest areas, the Hackberry tree, rope-like wild berry, Virginia creeper and poison ivy can be found. In the grassland red cedar is found. The marshes are homes to the cattails and lilies. Point Pelee is rich in vegetation, helpful to the animals living in the area.
